ALPA HR Alpagon 4.0/40 mm, SB17, in Aperture Unit

HR ALPAGON 40 mm - the workhorse

If the conversation comes to the HR ALPAGON 40mm, then the term "workhorse" usually comes up very soon - and quite rightly so, because, for many (professional) photographers, the 40mm is the standard solution for their ALPA. If you wanted to mark it as a "bread and butter" lens, you would be wrong, however: With its brilliant performance and its image circle of 90mm, it plays in the same league as the legendary HR ALPAGON 32mm, but is due to its slightly narrower angle same light intensity significantly lighter, more compact and therefore more robust. It covers (based on 40x54mm) still a comparable angle as a 28mm lens on a 35 mm camera and allows even on the so-called medium format back (40x54mm) even shifts of up to 16mm. A real companion and workhorse.

The HR ALPAGON 40mm can be found particularly often together with an HR ALPAGON 70mm in a photo backpack, bag or case. It is not for nothing that many newcomers to the ALPA system opt for this combination, not only for the focal length range but also for the optical characteristics of the two Optics perfectly harmonized.

Scope of delivery: The product images are sample images and often show the lens with an ALPA HPF ring (High Precision Focusing). This HPF ring is not included in the scope of delivery of the lens. However, ALPA recommends the use of an HPF ring for optimum handling.

Lens tube: This is the standard version in Short Barrel. Versions in Long Barrel or Short Barrel FPS available on special order.

APERTURE UNIT

Digital backs with electronic shutter (currently Rolling Shutter for Phase One IQ 3/4, Hasselblad X1D and partly H6D) are becoming increasingly available. The new Rodenstock aperture unit - with its almost round, 9-piece aperture pattern - optimally supports this shutter type. Besides, lens versions in short barrel can also be used on the ALPA 12 FPS with its built-in focal-plane shutter. Please consult the corresponding product pages for compatibility or ask your sales partner or ALPA directly.
